We’re Still Here, Despite What Google (Doesn’t) Think

October 1, 2010 Jared Shusterman

Our headquarters is located in a nice city called, Sunrise, Florida, a city which Google apparently lost for a while. Here’s a link to the CNN article with the details: http://bit.ly/GoogleLostSunrise

We got a kick out of this as our Search Engine Marketing experts had spent an inordinate amount of time trying to register our company on Google maps recently after complaints our office was hard to find. Now we know why.

While this knowledge brings closure, it also reinforces that technology is not mistake proof. The article mentions that other businesses in the area were frustrated and felt they had lost revenue as a result of Google redirecting searches to Sarasota, Florida instead (coincidentally where my wife is from). Good thing our business is internet based - and that there isn't another SproutLoud in Sarasota.
